Cornell 1906 Founding Legacy Meets Ancient Egyptian Regalia
On December 4, 1906, at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, the Seven Jewels—Henry Arthur Callis, Charles Henry Chapman, Eugene Kinckle Jones, George Biddle Kelley, Nathaniel Allison Murray, Robert Harold Ogle, and Vertner Woodson Tandy—established Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. as the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity for African American men. Guided by the motto First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All and the principles of Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love For All Mankind, the brotherhood adopted Black and Old Gold alongside Ancient Egyptian iconography to honor the strength of African antiquity. The Alpha Phi Alpha Black Gold Hoodie brings those historic emblems together across a jet-black and metallic old-gold unisex pullover.

Along the right side of the chest, three large black collegiate Greek letters—Α, Φ, Α—are framed in metallic old-gold outlines. Coiled through the upper Α is a gold-and-white hooded King Cobra with open jaws and a red forked tongue, while a charcoal-and-silver gorilla head in side profile with bared white fangs merges into the left curve of the middle Φ and lower Α. Balancing the front composition on the left chest is the ornate gold-and-black Alpha Phi Alpha heraldic coat of arms shield crest, detailed with a checkered shield, silver knight helmet, crossed torches, and a lower scroll banner inscribed ΑΛΦΑ ΦΙ ΑΛΦΑ, while three horizontal old-gold varsity stripes wrap around the mid-section of both long sleeves.

Full-Back Pharaoh Warrior Artwork and Sublimated Pullover Comfort
Turning the garment around reveals a full-back illustration of a muscular armored Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh warrior wearing a black-and-gold striped Nemes headdress with a royal uraeus cobra brow emblem, black chest armor bearing a gold lion medallion, and an ornate gold belt marked with Φ. The Pharaoh grips a curved silver-and-gold khopesh sword in his right hand and raises a six-rivet golden heraldic shield emblazoned with ΑΦΑ on his left arm, standing directly above interlocking black-and-gold ΑΦΑ letters that house the vertical founding year 1906 inside the central stem of the Φ. Tailored in ultra-soft wrinkle-resistant and shrink-resistant polyester with a drawstring hood, front kangaroo pocket, and fade-resistant all-over dye-sublimation print across sizes XS to 5XL, the pullover is built for December 4 Founders’ Day events, campus homecomings, and autumn-through-spring wear. Shoppers coordinating Divine Nine gifts across Greek households can also pair this hoodie with the Phi Beta Sigma Sweater for family holiday gatherings.
