Sunderland AFC 2026 Football Advent Calendar

Designed for Wearside supporters who carry the red-and-white stripes through every winter matchday, the Sunderland AFC 2026 Football Advent Calendar pairs historic club heraldry with a 24-piece miniature squad collection. Founded in 1879 and known as the Black Cats after the 1805 Roker gun battery lore, Sunderland AFC is represented on the rigid paperboard exterior through its full coat of arms and an evening panorama of the Stadium of Light. Each day from December 1 through Christmas Eve opens a numbered compartment to reveal a freestanding 3D molded figurine on a labeled circular base.

Wearside Heraldry and Stadium of Light Box Design

Standing upright on a side table, bookshelf, or mantelpiece, the rigid paperboard box is wrapped in deep scarlet and white with metallic gold accents. At the crown of the front panel sits the Sunderland A.F.C. crest introduced alongside the club’s 1997 move from Roker Park: two black cats flanking a quartered shield that depicts the Penshaw Monument, the Wearmouth Bridge, and red-and-white stripes, surmounted by a colliery wheel honoring Wearside’s coal-mining heritage and the Latin scroll Consectatio Excellentiae. Directly below the gold title banner, a snow-dusted illustration frames the arched roof truss, floodlight pylons, and forecourt statue of the Stadium of Light beneath its signature welcome sign.

Inside the 24 compartments, the daily reveals build a complete 3D chibi-style matchday roster with tactile molded details and smooth matte-painted finishes. Outfield players wear Sunderland’s classic red-and-white vertical striped jerseys with black shorts and red socks, complemented by two goalkeeper figures in emerald green and canary yellow strips with molded keeper gloves, plus a manager figure in a black touchline zip jacket. Because every figure is secured to a flat black circular pedestal with a printed front name plate, the entire 24-piece set lines up neatly along a desk edge or display riser long after the holiday decorations come down. Shoppers picking out seasonal gifts for multi-sport households can also pair this Wearside edition with the Kansas City Chiefs figurine calendar for a fellow red-and-white supporter.
